Divine Compassion in a Broken World

Advent waiting

If we are to be healed, we must release the sacred sound of our pain—the cry of the mother in us at the agony of life's brokenness. (John Philip Newell)

This program is an immersion in practices of Soul Work, an invitation for deepening connection with the Holy Mother Mary. Regardless of your religious orientation, the Blessed Mother archetype is a psycho-spiritual resource at the Deep Heart of Being, reorienting us toward hope and resilience in an upside-down world.

Our cultural landscaped has been scarred by discord, divisiveness and chaos. Sensitive and aware people are experiencing a heightened level of spiritual emergency caused by toxic bombardments upon the world stage. The inner world of the psyche is increasingly threatened by chronic levels of fear and alienation. The experience of peril is difficult to escape, especially when fear leads to widespread poverty of imagination and disconnection from the soul’s full wingspan of creative expression.

The archetypal presence of Eros is a spiritual instinct at the root of our being, symbolizing the soul’s ancient longing and force of desire that wishes to connect. This movement of Holy Longing is the energy of divine imagination that mobilizes our attraction toward the healing presence of the Blessed Mother. Re-igniting this power of the soul mobilizes hope, restores our ability to be “strong in our brokenness” and facilitates our receptivity to the voices and movements of renewal in creation, in Mother nature, and in the depths of our own psyche.

In times of great uncertainty and alienation the instincts of the deep unconscious rise up into consciousness and call out for recognition and connection. Eros, in the depths of the soul, ignites the vitality of life force, the core powers of imagination, and the ancient desire of Holy Longing. In Jungian Psychology this is called the archetypal encounter with the Deep Self. This is the innate healing dimension of the Great Mother that hears the cries of the world and rises within us with compassion, renewal and wisdom.

This workshop is an invitation for deepening connection with Mother Mary, Mother of God in the Christian tradition. Regardless of your religious background, the Great Mother archetype is a psychospiritual resource at the Deep Heart of Being. You will find her in your inner depths and in the beautiful landscape of Rivers and Mountains at Mariandale, as Sacred Soul and Sacred Nature.
