Blessings on the Caregiver Journey: Engaging Caregiver Grief & Diversity in Emotions

Print

Caregivers of all types, this invitation is intended specifically for you!

The caregiver profile in America encompasses an array of possibilities, including individuals caring for a spouse, family member, child, or loved one. It is also a vocation for numerous professionals employed in the health and human services industry. In both contexts, caregivers often overlook their own self-care and needs because of the stressful demands that accompany caring for others. Join us as the new year begins for a series on the caregiver journey and the opportunity to reflect upon it in community through a spiritual lens.

Each two-hour online session is an invitation for all types of caregivers to gather together and experience a safe, non-judgmental space while exploring a topic relevant to the caregiver experience. And, each session will include time for engaging in diverse spiritual practices (including body prayer, silence, meditation, mantras, journaling, etc.), personal reflection, and small / large group discussions. This program is designed to affirm and uplift participants wh may or may not provide hands-on care for their loved ones, but who are involved in their lives, as well as those who serve as caregivers professionally across the health and wellness spectrum.

With this in mind, the underlying focus for each gathering will be on creating meaning for each one’s respective journey while uncovering blessings and cultivating what each participant needs the most at that station in their caregiver role. Additionally, a variety of resources and materials for further consideration, connection and support will be provided.

"Self-care is never a selfish act - it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on the earth to offer to others. Anytime we can listen to true self and give it the care it requires, we do so not only for ourselves but for others whose lives we touch." Parker Palmer,
