Begin this Advent with contemplative practices of presence to God’s movement. Women and men are welcome to this retreat, to open to the ways we carry God and are invited to birth God into the world. We will learn the Prayer of Hospitality to Ourselves, Body-Spirit Focusing, and how to work with the Affection Teacher, practices we can continue to pray at home.

We will be guided into deepening levels of awareness and compassion in our bodies, allowing our relationship with self, God, and others to grow stronger. As Advent unfolds, the practices will deepen our preparation and rejoicing and will more finely attune us to witness and experience God’s love as revealed in scripture and in our lives. These prayer practices are accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience.

The retreat will include group prayer, music, poetry, relaxation, gentle movement, facilitated creative expression, and silent time for your own rest and reflection. A limited number of individual dream-tending sessions with Liz will be available.

Presenter Liz Walz, PhD, trained in spiritual direction since 2003 and facilitator of spiritual retreat experiences since 2004, offers deep listening in service of your soul and the soul of the world. A spiritual seeker for four decades and counting, Liz's background includes the Catholic Worker Movement and nonviolent direct action; yoga, massage, and Ayurveda certifications; and directing a school for contemplative living. Liz is enthusiastic about the many "love languages" of the Divine. Her retreats offer a thoughtful and grounded framework supported by bodily-based ways of knowing, tapping intuitive wisdom, and insight through dream and image exploration and creative expression. Liz's theology is cosmological and Christo-centric; her spiritual practices are creativity and nature based. Liz lives in community in Cuttingsville, VT.
